Follower of Aro tradition, was born in London in 1954. He has been since 1985 a disciple of the English-born Lamas Ngak'chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen. They are the Lineage Holders of the Aro Tradition, a ngak'phang [yogic, non-monastic] lineage in the Nyingma Tradition originating with the Tantric Buddha Yeshé Tsogyel.
Ngala Rig'dzin Dorje was ordained in 1990 and has been teaching around Europe for twenty years. He was first invited to Sweden and Finland in 1996, and has a small sangha in both countries with his teaching partner Tsal'gyür Wangmo. In 2006 they left London to establish Aro Ga'dzong, their home in the mountains of Tuscany where they hold retreats with their sangha and the public.
